Frances McLaughlin-Gill - The first woman under contract to Vogue
Born in 1919, Frances McLaughlin-Gill became a fashion photographer and the first woman photographer under contract to Vogue. Here is a stage set that was built for one of her most famous photographs. This shoot was for Glamour magazine, 1952.

For their November 2012 issue Vogue MĂ©xico has chosen Nickolas Murays beautiful portrait of Frida Kahlo. The photograph of Frida on the white bench was taken on a Sunday morning, in Nick’s studio. A few days later, she left for Paris where she was to have an exhibition at the Renou et Colle Gallery. Nickolas Muray took lots of tremendous portraits of Frida Kahlo.
