Frances McLaughlin-Gill - The first woman under contract to Vogue
Born in 1919, Frances McLaughlin-Gill became a fashion photographer and the first woman photographer under contract to Vogue. Here is a stage set that was built for one of her most famous photographs. This shoot was for Glamour magazine, 1952.

For their November 2012 issue Vogue México has chosen Nickolas Murays beautiful portrait of Frida Kahlo. The photograph of Frida on the white bench was taken on a Sunday morning, in Nick’s studio. A few days later, she left for Paris where she was to have an exhibition at the Renou et Colle Gallery. Nickolas Muray took lots of tremendous portraits of Frida Kahlo.
